Building wilderness spaces in urban places.

Our mission is to transform dead urban yards into thriving native ecosystems that nourish people, shelter wildlife, and revitalize the soil.

Our work replaces conventional landscaping with living, regenerative native plant ecosystems that grow stronger, need less maintenance, and become more resilient each year.

Land Acknowledgment

Urban Rewilding acknowledges that the land and water we work belong to the Clackamas, Kathlamet, Cowlitz, Multnomah, Chinook, Tualatin Kalapuya, and Molalla peoples who have cared for these ecosystems since time immemorial.

We recognize that the ecological restoration we practice today exists because of the stewardship, ecological knowledge, and resilience of the Native peoples who continue to live here, including members of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, the Confederated Tribes of the Siletz Indians, the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs, and the Cowlitz Indian Tribe.

As we restore urban ecosystems, we honor and learn from these ongoing relationships between land and water. Rewilding is not a return to a “wild” past—it’s a practice of reciprocity, repair, and respect for the living systems that have always been tended here.

the yard doesn't usually get many bird visitors (yet!) but this morning there was a handful of small birds hopping around, looking for-- and finding!-- worms to eat. and whenever i've been out there digging up weeds, almost every trowel-full of dirt reveals a worm

even in winter, the yard feels healthy and happy. thank you again so much for making this happen <3

Excellent! Working with urban rewilding has been a delightful and unfolding experience. They keep good care of my sizeable yard while wholeheartedly embracing their roles as stewards of the urban landscape and always making improvements here and there with each visit. Bre and her team have been a precious and indispensable partner in caring for the quarter acre serving as our first home.
