Native Plant Landscaping & Meadow Conversion
in Portland, Oregon

licensed-bonded-insured

We design, build, and maintain Oregon native plant landscapes — from urban meadows and wetlands to food forests and native woodland ecosystems — supporting wildlife, improving soil health, and growing more resilient and self-sustaining over time.

Oregon Native Plant Ecosystem Design

Liveable Native Plant Landscapes for Urban and Suburban Yards

Transform your lawn into the beautiful wetlands, meadows, and lush native forests that once filled the PNW.

Our designs feature Oregon native plant groupings that match site conditions, function as healthy ecosystems, create usable space, and become more resilient and self-sustaining over time.

Mitigating problem areas in urban and suburban yards and turning them into living, functional, Oregon native plant landscapes.

From wet spots and dry corners to full-yard conversions, we design meadows, forests, wetlands, and natural play spaces filled with edible and useful native plants tailored to your site and lifestyle.

PNW Native Plant Landscape Installation

Liveable Native Plant Landscapes for Urban and Suburban Yards

Whether converting a lawn into a native meadow, building an urban forest, or managing stormwater runoff, our installations are designed to provide immediate ecological benefits while becoming more resilient, less work, and more lush over time.

The result is a regenerative landscape that looks and functions just like the natural forests, wetlands, and meadows of the Pacific Northwest.

Our landscaping allows native plant communities to establish strong root systems, function naturally together, and create liveable spaces for humans and wildlife that thrive with minimal maintenance over time.

Ecological Maintenance & Stewardship

Plant & Habitat Centered Maintenance for Urban and Suburban Yards

We provide ecological landscape maintenance focused on strengthening healthy native plant communities rather than constantly controlling them.

Through removing invasives, introducing competition from native plants, increasing biodiversity, and observation-based care, we help landscapes mature into stable, self-supporting ecosystems that require less intervention over time.

Our maintenance approach works with natural processes and seasons to improve biodiversity, reduce weed pressure, build soil health, and support long-term ecosystem function—without chemicals, fertilizers, or excessive inputs.

As native landscapes establish and evolve, they become increasingly resilient, balanced, and lush year after year.

Founded in 2021, Urban Rewilding designs and builds Oregon native plant landscapes, forests, meadows, wetlands, and edible ecosystems throughout the greater Portland area.

Our team brings together diverse backgrounds with a shared focus on ecological restoration, regenerative landscaping, and creating healthy outdoor spaces that support both people and wildlife.

We specialize in low-maintenance native landscapes that improve biodiversity, soil health, stormwater absorption, and create habitat for pollinators and birds.

By working with nature—not against it—we create resilient Oregon ecosystems designed to thrive in the Pacific Northwest climate while helping build a more lush, biodiverse, and food resilient Portland.

Restoring Native Ecosystems in Urban Yards

Urban landscapes don’t have to be ornamental or resource-intensive. With the right plant communities and soil care, they can function as living ecosystems:

  • Wildlife habitat

  • Water infiltration & filtration

  • Long-term soil health

At Urban Rewilding, we design and build native plant systems that mirror natural processes and grow more resilient, require less intervention, and support dynamic ecosystems that adapt, mature, and improve with age.

Slow Mo Rewilding Program

Our three-year monthly rewilding program transforms your landscape from bland to biodiverse by building soil health, creating habitat, and long-term resilience in stages, letting the plants do the heavy lifting.

Bre and her crew are great. They are on time, creative, hardworking, and seem to genuinely love working together. Bre has great ideas for problem areas and works with your budget.

the yard doesn't usually get many bird visitors (yet!) but this morning there was a handful of small birds hopping around, looking for-- and finding!-- worms to eat. and whenever i've been out there digging up weeds, almost every trowel-full of dirt reveals a worm

even in winter, the yard feels healthy and happy. thank you again so much for making this happen <3

Excellent! Working with urban rewilding has been a delightful and unfolding experience. They keep good care of my sizeable yard while wholeheartedly embracing their roles as stewards of the urban landscape and always making improvements here and there with each visit. Bre and her team have been a precious and indispensable partner in caring for the quarter acre serving as our first home.
